Program Overview






Overview

Our 6-month International Music Production & DJ Performance Certificate will set you up with a chance to apply to transfer directly into the second year of a 3-year BA (Hons) degree program at Point Blank's London School. You'll also prepare yourself for a range of industry careers such as music producer, composer, sound designer, resident/touring DJ, or A&R/label manager. You will gain a mastery of your preferred DAW (Ableton Live or Logic Pro) and dive into skills and techniques including production, composition, essential DJ skills, and sound design. Our expert instructors have worked with the likes of Pharrell, Skrillex, and Amy Winehouse, just to name a few.

Note: Admission to degree programs at Point Blank London is subject to approval from Middlesex University.





This certificate program is delivered in person at our brand-new campus in Miracle Mile. You will be learning on the latest industry tech including Ableton Live, Push, Logic Pro, NI Komplete, Roland Cloud, and Pioneer DJ gear like the CDJ-3000, DJM-V10, CDJ-2000NXS, XDJ-XZ, RMX-1000, and more. All students who enroll in this program are entitled to receive a copy of the Ableton Live 11 Suite or Apple Logic Pro X software valued at $749 and $199 respectively. You’ll also attend exclusive masterclasses from the likes of Mark de Clive-Lowe, Laura Escude (Jay Z, Kanye West), Daddy Kev (Low End Theory), and Jimmy Mac (Lorde). Even if you don't make music with lyrics you still need to understand how tracks are structured in order to elevate your music above that of your competitors.   • Course 3: 3. Essential DJ Skills

    This course provides students with a strong foundation across a range of DJ skills. You will develop a solid knowledge of music theory within the context of spinning tunes. Essential DJ Skills will help you develop the knowhow and confidence to play live in the genre of your choice. A wide range of the latest DJ equipment is available in Point Blank's Pioneer DJ studio so you can familiarize yourself with the kind of set-ups most venues have. Students receive plenty of one-to-one support from the instructor while working work on practical tasks. The course also introduces the specialist DJ software Rekordbox and gives students an overview of the powerful features it offers.
