Overview

Supported by Pioneer DJ, this two-week course is designed to give beginners a fantastic start in the world of production and DJing using Pioneer DJ's industry-leading equipment and Ableton Live. You'll learn fundamental production techniques including how to make beats using drums, bass lines and chords, how to record your own audio into Ableton Live and edit it using effects such as compression and reverb, and how to mix your tracks among many other industry tips and tricks. You'll also cover the skills it requires to become a solid DJ such as tempo and cueing, beatmatching, EQing and effects, creative mixing, looping and how to prepare a set. The course is taught in English by professional DJ/Producers who have performed at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world and offers students opportunities to perform at a variety of parties and venues, including Hi, Ushuaia, Destino Pacha, Blue Marlin and the rooftop of the Hard Rock Hotel! You’ll also have access to great value accommodation through our partner hotels, and exclusive discounts to some of the island’s best clubs. Music Production Level 1 gives students a thorough grounding in essential music production skills in Ableton Live. If you are serious about becoming a professional producer or sound engineer, then it is crucial to master these skills before you can progress further. It is perfect for beginners but even if you have been making music for some time you will benefit from learning professional techniques from an experienced producer with major artist credits. Point Blank is an Ableton Certified Training Centre.

    DJ Skills - Level 1 guides you through all the essential DJ know-how to get you started. DJing is a great way to get your music heard and to get paid in the process! You'll cover beatmatching, CD, USB, vinyl mixing and more. Classes are taught by professional DJs on the latest kit. Each student has their own set up in class, all musical styles are welcome. By the end of the course you'll have the chance to play a live set in Ibiza!
