The BSc (Hons) Business Management gives a solid grounding in the key areas of business management and provides the essential skills and tools required by the manager. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the academic theory that exists around management. But that’s just the start. You will also learn to apply the theory to the actual business of running an organisation. This degree is designed for students who want to gain a broad understanding of the way organisations work. Not just considering individual business functions as “silos” but seeing they are interdependent. You will develop analytical and problem-solving skills which can be applied across these different functions. You will understand why businesses are complex and how to navigate the issues created by this complexity.Within the degree, you will have the option to choose from a wide range of elective modules, which allows you to personalise your studies to suit your own interests. These include strategy, marketing, finance, operations management, accounting, people and organisations, economics, business statistics and human resource management.During your time on the Business Management degree, we support your professional and personal growth in a number of ways. As well as hosting a series of business networking events at our state-of-the art building, 2nd year students have the opportunity to mentor 1st year Business Management students and GCSE Mathematics pupils across London, ensuring you develop your communication and leadership skills throughout. The Business Management degree provides a sound basis for a career in business management, management consultancy, or in areas including finance, stockbroking, marketing and IT. It also provides a firm grounding for students setting out as entrepreneurs. The BSc (Hons) Business Management is available as a three-year degree, or four-year degree for those who wish to take up a one-year work placement sandwich option or to take a sandwich year studying abroad. The four-year degree offers excellent opportunities to gain relevant work experience to prepare you for your career, and to make contacts in the world of business. You also have the option to apply for a study abroad sandwich year at one of our highly-respected partner institutions across the world. In an increasingly globalised business environment this is excellent preparation.
