You will be trained in psychological research methods covering research design, statistical methods and advanced software incorporating coding skills.

We also give you a range of module options from other psychology master’s programmes.

This choice enables you to acquire a broad base of psychology knowledge alongside research skills. Engaging with your peers on specialised programmes can also help to embed abstract research concepts within a practical context.

Your learning of research methodologies will give you the skills to undertake research in public or private sector organisations, or pursue a PhD and an academic research career.

This course is for students who have an undergraduate-level knowledge of psychological research methods and want to deepen their research skills.

You might have an ambition to manage your own research projects either in an academic setting or in industry where specific research skills and knowledge are highly valued.

Your research career prospects will be significantly improved when you graduate from our Research Methods with Psychology MSc programme. Your career path may lead to academic research, usually following a PhD programme, or work in government agencies and other sectors. Examples include:
