Program Overview


Develop a solid background of general bakery knowledge.

This programme gives you hands-on training as you are taken out of the classroom and into the real-world environment of a local commercial bakery kitchen and shop.

Study is based on bakery techniques research, and its culinary specialties. Formal work experience in industry is an important part of the programme for building professional relationships and connections to employers.

The EIT | Te Pūkenga School of Tourism and Hospitality baking programme is essentially hands-on training. You will be taken out of the classroom and into the real-world environment of a local commercial bakery kitchen and shops.

In our bakery training environment you will work as an effective member of the team and learn to communicate clearly with customers and your colleagues. Having consulted with industry when developing this programme an EIT | Te Pūkenga baking graduate should be well positioned and equipped for finding work in this field.
