Program Overview


Medical Neuroscience is the study of the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. If you want to gain advanced knowledge of clinical aspects of neuroscience and you’re keen to understand the neurobiology of diseases related to the nervous system – including neurodegenerative diseases – this is the course for you .

You’ll learn from a community of supportive experts in the Sussex Neuroscience research programme, with links to:
  • Brighton and Sussex Medical School
  • Genome Damage and Stability Centre
  • Sussex Drug Discovery Centre.

You’ll be taught by specialists in intelligence, genetic and molecular neural development, and learning and memory . This gives you the opportunity to choose from a broad range of options and tailor your course to your interests . You’ll have the opportunity to gain research methods and computing skills to support your career development .
