Program Overview

This course is for you if you’re an academic high-flyer. It offers you the exciting opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project here at Sussex each summer and get funding to cover your living expenses during that time.

You ’ll join our experts and immerse yourself in world-class research. From exploring the smallest particles, to observing the origins and evolution of our universe, and to unravelling our universe’s mysteries such as the nature of dark matter, quantum gravity and quantum effects in black holes, you’ll have the opportunity to work on any of our areas of expertise . In your integrated Masters year, you’ll also develop advanced physical skills through working further with one of the expert research groups in our Department .

Once you’ve joined us, you’ll have the opportunity to specialise in what inspires you most:

• Theoretical Physics (find out about our Modules).

You’ll be part of a close community – our lively Physics Society arranges regular social events . Our building is a real hub of activity. You’ll have all your practical sessions in our modern teaching laboratories. Outside the classroom, you can study or catch up with your friends in our popular student spaces.

Accreditation

• Accredited by the Institute of Physics (IOP) for the purpose of fully meeting the educational requirement for Chartered Physicist. Find out more
