About Program

Program Overview

Are you a registered adult nurse and considering a move into midwifery? If so, this two-year course is ideal as it recognises the skills and knowledge you already have. You'll gain the scientific knowledge and practical skills for a midwifery career, graduating with a degree and a professional midwifery qualification.

You'll gain clinical placement experience in maternity units in a variety of hospital and community settings in South West London and Surrey.

As a nurse you'll know the importance of teamwork. We pride ourselves on being a very supportive team and we'll take an individual and personal interest in your progress. Kingston University has a well-established and highly effective Student Life Services team, which could be useful if you're coming back to study after a period working.

Please note: if you already have a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing at grade 2.2 or above, you could enrol on our Masters of Midwifery (MMid) course.

Salary support

In September 2022, this course is funded by the government with salary support worth equivalent to the mid-point of AFC band 5 and a tuition fee contribution of up to £9,250 per student per annum, pro rata for the length of the course.

Each year we are notified by Health Education England about the number of places available.
