Program Overview

The four-year BSc Geography with European Study programme mirrors the BSc Geography programme at the Streatham Campus, but also gives you an exciting opportunity to spend the third year of your degree in one of our partner universities abroad. This is part of the EU-funded Erasmus programme, for which Exeter is one of a small number of fully-recognised UK Geography Schools. Your work during your year abroad is assessed and contributes to your final degree classification and 'with European Study' will be recorded on your degree certificate.The programme offers you the opportunity to tailor your physical geography degree to suit your developing interests. The first year of the programme provides an excellent grounding in both physical and human geography and ensures you develop the core skills required to progress successfully. The second and final years at Exeter allow for greater flexibility and specialisation with an emphasis on physical geography. You can choose from a diverse set of optional modules which span a breadth of topics including areas in which we have a particular strength such as hydrology, geomorphology and earth surface processes, Quaternary environmental and climatic change, and GIS. You will also have the opportunity for you to undertake physical geography research methods, participate in a physical geography field trip, and carry out a physical geography dissertation.Your third year will be spent at the partner university; find out more.
