Our inspiring BA Sociology degree programme has a utopian focus that aims to understand and critique historical and contemporary societies and cultures, everyday lived experiences, identities and relationships, and to pursue positive social change towards better individual and collective futures.

As part of this much needed academic, critical, policy and public sociological style approach of engaging with the contemporary world, you will critically explore the still dominant Western ‘way-of-life’ through social science perspectives and approaches, in order to analyse and evaluate ‘what is’ and ‘what ought to be’. If you are excited by contemporary questions and convincing explanations about the world around you and seek constructive social transformation, then our programme will ignite and develop your ‘sociological imagination’ towards this endeavour.
