Program Overview
On this Master's degree in International Criminal Justice, you'll gain skills and knowledge that will enable you to begin a career in the criminal justice sector or to pursue higher-level roles in the UK or overseas.
You'll view crime control from a global stance, assessing models of justice and philosophies of punishment from around the world. With a focus on the development of international criminal law, you'll evaluate the workings of international courts and tribunals, the operation of the UN, and regional and national structures of international justice.
You'll examine national and international criminal justice in relation to international norms and standards, including human rights issues, and study the development and challenges of transnational offending from criminological, legal and political perspectives.
You can study this course full or part-time on campus, or part-time by distance learning. You can also choose to customise your qualification by combining your study of international criminal justice with another of our Criminal Justice Master's courses.
When you graduate, you'll be ready to bring in-depth international criminal justice expertise to your career in the justice system, such as in the UK police force, civil service or private sector, or as an intelligence analyst or international liaison officer with international organisations such as Europol or Interpol.
