Program Overview
COURSE OVERVIEW
Learn about the literature, language, and culture of Wales and gain valuable professional experience with our BA Welsh with a Year in Industry.
You will gain oral and written fluency, and grow in confidence in your use and understanding of the Welsh language.
You will study a wide range of literature including plays, short stories, and novels, as well as poetry from the medieval bardic tradition to modern protest songs.
You will develop a keen understanding of Welsh language and grammar, linguistics, language planning policy, and learn valuable translation skills.
Throughout your studies and work placement, you will develop excellent research and analytical skills and learn to present your ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.
YOUR WELSH (A PATHWAY FOR SECOND LANGUAGE STUDENTS) WITH A YEAR IN INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Our flexible degree structure with a range of optional modules gives you plenty of scope to tailor your studies to your particular interests, career goals, or ambitions for postgraduate study.
Between your second and final year, you will have a work placement of between nine and 12 months in a media or communications related role in a commercial, public sector or charitable organisation.
