Overview

The BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance with Foundation Year is a four-year course designed to provide students with the foundational skills and knowledge to complete a full Honours degree. This course offers students the opportunity to study at degree level without meeting the traditional level 3 entry requirements.

Accreditation

The course is currently seeking accreditation from ICAEW, ACCA, and CIMA, which will exempt students from exams and help them fast-track their journey to becoming chartered accountants.

• Total Points required: 64
• Accepted qualifications:
  • A Levels: DDE
  • BTEC: MPP
  • Access: Pass 45 Credits
  • International Baccalaureate: TBC
• GCSE Maths: Grade 4/C or equivalent

How You'll Learn

Teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, online material, student-centred workshops, games, posters, case studies, and learning exercises. Students will also have the opportunity to gain work experience on a year-long placement with an external organisation or study for a year in one of the university's partner institutions in North America.

How You'll Be Assessed

Assessment methods include written examinations, coursework assessments such as essays, reports, portfolios, performance, presentations, and a final year major project. The standard pass mark for a module is 40%.

The 2026/27 annual tuition fees for this course are:

• UK: Ł5,760 (Foundation Year), Ł10,050 (years 1-3)
• Overseas: Ł17,000
