Gain the skills and knowledge to analyse real economic problems and understand how the world works.
This course will allow you to combine discipline-specific skills with an in-depth knowledge of the economic issues facing modern society so that you graduate equipped with the qualities that employers seek.
During the foundation year, you'll learn about key areas of business or politics and will develop the skills needed to study at degree level.
You’ll develop your knowledge in crucial aspects of the subject, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, and the application of theoretical and empirical economic analysis to major issues of economic policy.
Our Economics with Foundation Year course is designed to be taken in combination with another subject as part of our selection of combined honours degrees. These offer you the flexibility to study complementary subjects, expanding your knowledge in different areas and widening your potential career possibilities.
You will also have the opportunity to undertake a Professional Placement or a year abroad as an optional part of your degree. A Professional Placement contributes to your development by giving you real-world business experience and increasing your career prospects as you prepare for life after your degree.
