BA (Hons) Games Design with Foundation Year
The BA (Hons) Games Design with Foundation Year is a four-year course that provides students with the opportunity to study games design at degree level, even if they do not meet the traditional entry requirements. The foundation year allows students to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the games design industry.

The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of games design, including the technical, creative, and commercial aspects of the industry. Students will learn how to design video games for consoles, mobiles, and PCs, and will develop their skills in a studio-based environment.

- A Levels: DDE
- BTEC: MPP
- Access: Pass 45 Credits
- International Baccalaureate: TBC The total points required for entry are 64.
How You'll Learn
The course is taught through a combination of technical and creative workshops, lectures, interactive seminars, individual tutorials, demonstrations, and exercises. Students will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, and will be assessed through the submission of practical assignments and a supporting set of materials.
Assessment
The course is assessed through the submission of practical assignments, normally consisting of a practical response to a brief, and a supporting set of materials. There are no formal exams, and modules are loaded with opportunities for formative assessment.
Feedback
Students will receive formative feedback on all practice-based assessments in session and summative feedback on end of module assessment hand-ins. Feedback is intended to help students learn and is encouraged to be discussed with the module tutor.
