The BSc (Hons) Human Biology with Foundation Year is a four-year course that provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge to complete a full Honours degree. How you'll learn

• Independent study features a variety of independent learning materials, including textbook chapters, videos, and research papers.
• Overall workload is similar to a full-time job during the weeks of the semester.

How you'll be assessed

• Assessment methods include coursework, timed online questionnaires, poster presentations, scientific reports, portfolios, and exams.
• In your final year, you'll complete a dissertation module that includes a thesis assessment and a presentation.

Your future career

• Graduates have gone on to work in various roles, including Clinical Respiratory Physiologist, Research Associate, Support Biomedical Scientist, and Junior Chemist.
• Several graduates have gone on to study at postgraduate level as MSc or PhD students.

Fees

• 2026/27 annual tuition fees:
  • UK: £9,790 (Foundation Year), £10,050 (years 1-3)
  • Overseas: £17,000
• The University intends to increase tuition fees in line with the maximum tuition fee cap set by the UK Government.
