The FE1 Preparatory Course at Independent College prepares students for the Law Society of Ireland's FE1 entrance examinations. Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements:
EU Home Students:
- Leaving Certificate: A minimum of six subjects at ordinary level (O6) to include two languages (one of which must be Irish or English) and mathematics.
- Equivalent qualifications: If you have completed qualifications outside of the Irish Leaving Certificate system, you may be eligible to apply based on equivalent qualifications. These qualifications must be deemed equivalent to the Leaving Certificate by the Qualifications and Quality Assurance Authority of Ireland (QQI).
International Overseas Students (outside the EU):
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: A minimum of 24 points overall, with at least 15 points at Higher Level (HL) subjects.
- GCE Advanced Level (A-Level): A minimum of three A-Level subjects, with at least two at grade C or above.
- Other qualifications: If you have completed qualifications outside of the IB or A-Level systems, you may be eligible to apply based on equivalent qualifications. These qualifications must be deemed equivalent to the IB or A-Level by the Qualifications and Quality Assurance Authority of Ireland (QQI).

English Language Proficiency:
- For non-native English speakers, Independent College requires proof of English language proficiency. This can be demonstrated through:
- Achieving a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic test.
- Completing a recognized English language course. However, students are encouraged to develop their Irish language skills, as this will be beneficial for their legal studies.
- In addition to the above requirements, Independent College may also consider your personal statement, references, and work experience.

I had a great experience with independent college Dublin. Location wise, the campus couldn't be better located since it's close to the main train and tram stations and bus stops which makes it super handy for students. Lecturers and classes are excellent. Student support and guidance was provided by the Admin staff when it was needed. They are super friendly and were always willing to help super quickly. Would totally recommend the College!

This is my second year at Independent College Dublin (ICD) and I would like to highlight few positive though that might help a student in choosing the college. Firstly, I couldn't recommend high enough ICD, for the brilliant services. The staff (management) are very supportive and very helpful whenever we need help, always there. Secondly, the lecturer's are very thoughtful in delivering the syllabus knowing that English isn't our first language. They manage and try their level best to make sure the student understand(stood) the module. Thirdly, the location of the college is commutable within a short distance from Connolly Train/bus station. Lastly, Pinnacle café located at 4th floor is very handy for student to grab something while in the college (full day). Hence, if you are looking to enrol in a course, I would highly recommend ICD as they have all the facilities that a student want/need. Cheers!!
