Degree Overview:

This program prepares students for a high-demand field, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to build quality software in line with rapid technological advancements. The Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Software Engineering covers diverse aspects like design, development, security, and maintenance, making graduates highly sought-after candidates across various industries like finance, banking, healthcare, and national security. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through a systematic hybrid learning scheme, encompassing in-person classes at the Potsdam campus and e-learning sessions. Outline:

The full-time bachelor's degree program spans six semesters, including a "mobility window" in the 5th semester for either studying abroad or pursuing further modules with an applied focus. The program comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits. A key feature is the Career Development Semester, where students work on an end-to-end software engineering project, simulating real-world scenarios. The project involves identifying a business problem, collecting data, developing a software solution, evaluating, testing, and delivering the solution. Additionally, students participate in the App & Web Development Studio, a sandbox environment where they develop a web or mobile app using acquired technical skills.
