Program Outline

The Master's preparatory programme consists of 18 hours per week (HPW). Learn more about the course content in the curriculum.

 

Distribution of the semester hours per week

 

  • Advanced-level English (IELTS level 6) (6 HPW)
    • Academic Reading, General Training Reading
    • Academic Writing, General Training Writing
    • Advanced Speaking Skills

 

  • Office package plus additional skills (i.e. IT/programming) (6 HPW)
    • Programming knowledge based on basic tools
    • Basic training as preparation for the challenges in the job

 

  • Statistics (including preparatory course in Master Data Science) (3 HPW)
    • knowledge of the statistical concepts variable and test level
    • ability to make and interpret descriptive graphs
    • basic knowledge of statistical concepts from sample theory
    • first introduction and basic skills in programming

 

  • Scientific Writing (3 HPW)
    • formulating a research question, structuring a paper and writing about insights
    • basic principles of argumentation
    • how to present a coherent argument
    • how to use secondary sources and attribute these correctly
