Arabic Lower Intermediate
Overview
The Arabic Lower Intermediate course is designed for students who have a good basic knowledge of the Arabic language and its grammar. The course is divided into three parts, each building on the previous one, and covers various topics and grammar.
Who is this class for?
This course is suitable for students who have studied Arabic for around two years or 120 hours. Students who have completed Part One can join Part Two, and those who have completed Parts One and Two can join Part Three.
Course Structure
The course consists of three parts, each covering different topics and grammar.
Part One

- Greetings in different social situations
- Family and relatives
- Talk about your childhood
- Famous celebrities in the Arab world

- A look at Egypt and Saudi
- Grammar:
- Questions (أي \ متى)
- Active participle (ذاهب \ ساكن)
- Pronouns (هم \ هنَّ)
- Adjectives (تقليدي \ محبوب)
- Review plural (بيوت \ موائد)
- Past and present verbs (وُلد \ أمضى)
- Irregular verbs (وصل\ نسي)
Part Two
- Topics:
- Work and routine
- Talk about your CV
- Sports and leisure
- Talking about preferences
- Talking about free time
- A look at Syria and Morocco
- Grammar:
- Verbal nouns and participle (مفضَّل \ تدريب)
- Past verb (مارس \ لعب)
- Sound masculine plural (كرماء \ طوال)
- Forms of the verb (أفعل \ استفعل)
- Giving reasons (لأن \ بسبب)
- Letters format (عزيزي \ مع تحيات)
- Subjunctive (أن تفتحي \ أن تكتبوا)

- Conjugate the past, present, and future verbs (سأسافر \ سافرت)

Teaching
The course follows a communicative approach to language teaching, focusing on the language needed to communicate in authentic situations with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The classes are taught by experienced language teachers who are native speakers of the language or equivalent.
Learning Resources
The course uses Mastering Arabic 2 throughout. Students are advised to wait until the first session before buying the course book.
