Project management is a modern career that is applicable to any business sector. The presence of PRINCE2 certification has now become a minimum requirement for many CVs. For many, the certificate is a career-changing opportunity that leads to project management or consultancy work in one of the large UK or international government or non-government organisations.

Accreditations

PRINCE2 is accredited by PeopleCert. The University of Westminster is also a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for PRINCE2.

Course Delivery

The course is taught and examined in English. The course requires a first pass of all the material in the official manual, so it is important that students do some reading before the course starts. Pre-course work is expected to take approximately 15 hours.

The course consists of a series of lectures and group exercises over three days. The lectures introduce the method's terminology, then case studies are discussed to explain how to use the method in practice. Candidates are given a scenario, which will allow them to apply the method during the training sessions using group exercises.

Supplementary learning material is provided via the online learning environment. At the end of each day, multiple-choice questions are used to recap the day's learning as preparation for the exam.

The exam is a PeopleCert Online Proctored Exam. Students will get an exam voucher from the University of Westminster and then book their exam with PeopleCert, at a date of their choosing. The PRINCE2 7 Foundation exam must be sat within six weeks of the end of the course.

For the online proctored exam, students must ensure their computer and the room they choose to take their exam in meet the minimum requirements. More information can be found on the PeopleCert website.

The exam is closed book, 60 minutes long, and consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark is 60% and it leads to the official PRINCE2 7 Foundation certificate.
