Program Overview
The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology requires successful completion of 120 hours, including (1) the UCA Core: complete 38 hours to meet lower-division UCA Core requirements and complete upper-division UCA Core requirements through major courses, including PSYC 2331: Research Methods, PSYC 4301:Apprenticeship in Psychology I (Z), PSYC 4311: Psychology in Context (D) and a Responsible Living course to include PSYC 4323: Health Psychology (R), PSYC 4327: Positive Psychology (R) or a (R) designated course from the minor (2) degree requirements; and (3) 45 hours in the department as indicated below. A minor, second major, or certificate program of at least 14 hours is required and must be worked out with the student’s advisor in the other department.
Mathematics Pathway: First-time, first-year students majoring in Psychology enter the Quantitative Literacy Mathematics Pathway and must enroll in MATH 1360 during their first year of study, unless they have been awarded credit that completes their 1000-level math requirements.
