Undertake an innovative exploration of leadership and management in healthcare, examining their impact on organisations and wider external considerations.
Full Description
We’ll enable you to assess and analyse the roles of leaders and managers and to apply the principles and techniques of leadership and management in a range of contexts.
This module combines academic rigour with practical applications to develop you into a dynamic, forward-thinking practitioner who will excel in your field. You’ll be encouraged to adopt a multi-perspective framework for developing and evaluating leadership and management processes.
Main Topics of Study
- Fundamentals of organisations, management and leadership and its defining characteristics.
- The key roles that managers and leaders play in creating visions and strategies.
- The issue of change in organisations.
- Critical issues in leadership and management development.
- Organisational culture and organisational dynamics.
Who Should Attend
This module will benefit any healthcare practitioners and those working in Health and Social Care settings with leadership responsibilities, who are equipped to study at postgraduate level. This means that you would have studied previously at Level 6 (degree level).

- 30 credits (Level 7) for courses starting in 2024/25 - distance learning: £1,367
- 30 credits (Level 7) for courses starting in 2024/25: £1,767
- 30 credits (Level 7) for courses starting in 2025/26 - distance learning: £1,433
- 30 Credits (Level 7) for courses starting in 2025/26: £1,850
