Brushcutters and Trimmers (NPTC)
Overview
Learn to operate and maintain brushcutters and trimmers for work in this one day City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award training and assessment programme.
Full Description
Topics you will cover include:
- Pre-use checks and maintenance
- Identification of controls and instruments
- Safe use of machines with interchangeable heads; steel blade and nylon line
We have several machines such as Stilh FS400 and Husqvarna HU345. You are encouraged to bring your own machine in “as used” condition along with its operator manual and any spares, e.g. air filters, blades, etc. We can then work on a “real” situation and do some routine servicing.
To achieve this qualification you must successfully achieve a practical assessment with oral questioning by an NPTC City & Guilds approved assessor.
The instructor / student ratio is 1:4
Free parking is available on Writtle campus: we'll issue a permit to you and ask that it's clearly displayed in your vehicle. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available; please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.
