Family Planning Appreciation
Overview
This two-day workshop provides an overview of contraceptive care and sexually transmitted infections. Although it carries no academic credits, attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
Full Description
The workshop covers topics such as:
- The combined oral contraceptive pill
- The progesterone-only pills
- Long-acting contraceptive methods (LARCS)
- Barrier methods (condoms, caps, diaphragms)
- Emergency contraception
- An overview of chlamydia, gonorrhoea, genital warts, genital herpes, syphilis
This workshop forms the first part of the Understanding Contraception and Reproductive Sexual Health course, offered at level 6 or 7.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is suitable for anyone giving advice to clients about contraception and sexual health.

Entry Requirements
You should be working in a setting where advising patients/clients about contraceptive choices and sexual health issues is a regular part of your job.
