Overview

Gain the skills and knowledge needed to operate a dog walking or pet sitting business safely and professionally. This iPET Network Level 3 Award is designed to meet real-life needs and circumstances.


Full Description

This course can:


  • prepare you to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding
  • prepare you for employment or self-employment
  • support a role in the workplace
  • encourage engagement in learning

It will enable you to:


  • Access a holistic approach to training
  • Work practically with dogs
  • Understand business management relevant to a small business
  • Consider and apply health and safety requirements for professional dog walkers or pet sitters
  • Develop effective communication skills for working with dogs and their owners and how to manage instructions, personal data and extenuating factors

Your Tutor

Your tutor is Kate Middleton BSc MSc PGCE. Kate has a degree in Animal Science and a Masters in Animal Behaviour. She started her own dog-walking and pet-sitting business in 2014, and also works part-time as a teacher in canine-related studies. She holds a Level 4 in Canine Emergency First Aid, and is currently studying for an Advanced Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management.
