Pesticide Application PA6A

Overview

Learn about using a knapsack sprayer with hydraulic nozzles or rotary atomisers to apply pesticides to land, with our accredited one-day course at Writtle College.

Topics covered will include:


  • preparation of equipment
  • calibration
  • record keeping

Our course is accredited by City & Guilds NPTC. Having completed the training, you'll take part in an NPTC assessment on a separate date (to be arranged).


Calculations and interpreting information is an integral part of the training.


Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for operators who use a knapsack sprayer to apply pesticides to land.


In order to take the end-of-course assessment you should first have completed the Pesticide Application – PA1 foundation module.


Dates

Tuesday 13 May 2025, plus one day assessment Friday 16 May or Friday 23 May 2025.

Entry Requirements

In compliance with regulations and directives from the Health & Safety Executive, this course requires an understanding of pesticide labels and regulations.


To take part you must also wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE), which should include:


  • waterproof wellington boots
  • sprayer face shield
  • type 5/6 disposable coveralls
  • unlined nitrile gloves.

We recommend that you first complete the one-day Pesticide Application – PA1 foundation module. City & Guilds NPTC, which accredits both courses, states that you cannot take the assessment for this PA6A until you've completed the PA1.
