Learn more about preparing and operating a ride-on mower. Our accredited, one-day course at Writtle College is designed for experienced operators.

With this course, you can choose two of the following three cutting mechanisms: cylinder; rotary; flail.

Our course is aimed at operators working in a commercial environment and covers:

• settings and adjustments
• quality of finish
• safety and maintenance
• operational techniques
• public area responsibilities and productivity.

The instructor/student ratio is 1:4.

Entry Requirements

As we're governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, you will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe-capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high-visibility vest.
