You'll be taught by industry experts, gaining the comprehensive knowledge and skills in purchasing, logistics and supply chain management in an international business context.

While many universities offer only two semesters per year, we are confident that our trimester (three terms) approach will provide you support throughout the year, and this will be reflected in your workplace practice.

Delivery and assessment

4 years (part-time)

An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.

At least 20% of your contracted working hours will be classed as 'off-the-job'. This time will be dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship, and therefore is not part of your usual work duties.

The off-the-job learning will be delivered through face-to-face workshops, online lecturer-led learning sessions and activities, and practical learning experiences in your usual work setting.

The off-the-job learning for our Supply Chain Degree Apprenticeship is delivered through a blend of online and on-campus workshops. Apprentices have a week's block teaching at the beginning of every trimester (September, January, May) on campus, and then fortnightly timetabled online webinars (three hours long).

Assessment

All assessments are designed to allow you to demonstrate your learning, and to make sure you are developing the abilities and skills you need to complete the course.

You’ll be assessed using a variety of authentic assessment techniques that are aligned to real-world activities. These include group and individual presentations, reports, posters, contribution to online discussions, plans, case studies, online tests, and interviews. You’ll be fully supported to develop the academic skills required to undertake these assessments. There are no written exams.

The End Point Assessment (EPA) will enable you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills acquired throughout the four-year programme through a major work-based project, such as inventory reduction, use of lean practices or tracking multiple outcomes of a supply chain process. This project, which is agreed by the Course Leader and the Employer should prove to be of significant benefit to the business.
