Overview

This one-day, NPTC-accredited training and assessment programme teaches the safe use and maintenance of tractor-mounted hedge and verge cutters.


Full Description

This programme is designed for experienced tractor drivers who wish to use a tractor-mounted hedge and verge cutter. Topics covered include:


  • Preparation and maintenance
  • Site safety
  • Machinery operation
  • Hedge trimming
  • Verge cutting
  • Ditch or dyke cutting

During the assessment process, participants will be asked to identify certain tractor instruments/controls and perform maintenance checks.

Entry Requirements

To join this course, you must be a competent tractor driver; you should be certain of your ability before attending. You are required to sign and return an Experienced Tractor Driving Operator Declaration.


As we're governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, you will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe-capped boots or shoes, gloves, and suitable protective clothing that provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high-visibility vest.
