Gain a Level 3 Certificate of Competence in using a chainsaw from a MEWP as part of your work in arboriculture, forestry or other industries. Our course is accredited by NPTC City & Guilds, and offers a student-tutor ratio of 2:1.

The course lasts for two days, and there is also an assessment day (date arranged separately). To achieve this qualification, you must successfully complete a one-to-one practical assessment with oral questioning by an NPTC City & Guilds-approved assessor.
We arrange bookings for up to two students; and the course fee includes equipment use, NPTC registration and assessment. Please note that an additional charge maybe incurred if you cannot accept the assessment date offered.
Free parking is available on campus in Writtle: we'll issue a permit to you and ask that it's clearly displayed in your vehicle. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available; please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.

This intensive practical course requires a good level of physical fitness and an ability to study written technical information.
You must already hold OFQUAL regulated qualification in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting, Felling Trees up to 380mm and the operation of a MEWP.
By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.
