Program Description:
The program consists of a combination of theoretical and practical components. Students will attend classroom sessions to learn about the fundamentals of ageing support, including:
- The physical, cognitive, and emotional changes associated with aging
- The principles of person-centered care
- The legal and ethical responsibilities of aged care workers
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Care planning and service delivery In addition to classroom learning, students will complete a minimum of 120 hours of supervised work placement in a high-quality aged care facility. This practical experience will provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
