Program Overview

The UW–Madison Astronomy–Physics program provides a comprehensive study of the observable Universe, from planets and stars to galaxies and the cosmic web. It builds on a foundation of classical and modern physics, preparing students for careers in research, industry, or further education in astronomy, astrophysics, or physics. Graduates may also pursue careers in other science fields or science-oriented liberal education.
