Common career paths in accounting include public and corporate accounting. Public accountants work with clients to review or prepare financial documents, while corporate accountants manage an organizations financials and provide expertise in financial reporting and control.


Certification/Licensure

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

The state of Wisconsin requires candidates for the CPA license to have earned a bachelors or higher degree and 150 credit hours. The University of Wisconsin-Madison offers several degree options to complete these requirements, including the Master of Science in Business: Accounting and Business Analysis (MSABA) and the undergraduate Business: Accounting, BBA degree with additional credits.
