Curriculum and Instruction: Secondary Mathematics Education, MS

The Curriculum and Instruction: Secondary Mathematics Education, MS program is a named option in the Curriculum and Instruction MS. This program is designed to prepare students for a teaching license in secondary mathematics education (grades 4-12) and to work with English language learners (ESL certification).

Program Description

The program spans two summers and an intervening academic year, during which students take graduate-level courses and engage in fieldwork associated with those courses. To earn the degree, students must complete a master's project.

Admissions

• The program has a two-step admission process between academic programs and the Graduate School.
• Applicants must meet the minimum requirements of the Graduate School as well as the program's requirements.
• The application deadline for early admission and priority scholarship consideration is January 15 for summer admission.
• The program will continue to review domestic applications through May and international applicants through mid-March.

Funding

• The Bursars Office provides information about tuition and fees associated with being a graduate student.

Program Information

• Students enrolled in this program are not eligible to receive tuition remission from graduate assistantship appointments at this institution.
• The mode of instruction is face-to-face, with some accelerated components.

Curricular Requirements

• Minimum Credit Requirement: 30 credits
• Minimum Residence Credit Requirement: 30 credits
• Minimum Graduate Coursework Requirement: 24 credits must be graduate-level coursework.
• Overall Graduate GPA Requirement: 3.00 GPA required.
• Other Grade Requirements: Students must earn a B average or above in all coursework.
