Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis: K-12 Leadership, Ph.D.
Program Overview
The Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis PhD program equips students with a comprehensive understanding of educational leadership, organizational theory, and research methods. Graduates pursue careers as faculty members, district and school administrators, and in other education-related fields. The program emphasizes both qualitative and quantitative research, and students can specialize in one of four depth areas: Organizations and Planning, Program and Instructional Leadership and Management, Politics, Policy, and Finance, or Learning and Diversity.

The Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis PhD program provides students with a foundation in educational leadership, organizational theory, planning and evaluation, learning and diversity, with a focus on both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Graduates work as faculty members, district and school administrators, and pursue careers in education-related fields. The program includes the following core knowledge areas:
- Organizations and Planning
- Program and Instructional Leadership and Management
- Politics, Policy and Finance
- Learning and Diversity Students must take one course from each of these areas. In addition to the core knowledge areas, students must select a depth area in which they will take three additional courses. The depth areas are:

- Politics, Policy, and Finance
- Learning and Diversity Students must also complete a sequence of courses in research methods and design, focusing on either quantitative or qualitative methods.
