Program Overview

The Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies (ITS) program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison offers an interdisciplinary approach to theatre studies, grounded in theatre history, dramatic literature, and performance theory. The program prepares students for innovative research and inquiry through scholarly research, practice as research, and teaching experiences. Graduates pursue careers in theatre, academia, and other fields, including theatre direction, production, management, teaching, research, and arts administration.
