Program Overview

The M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Research option at UW-Madison is a two-year program that emphasizes hands-on research experience under faculty mentorship. Students complete a written thesis and defense. The program also offers three one-year options in Accelerated Program, Automotive Engineering, and Modeling and Simulation in Mechanical Engineering, which focus solely on coursework. All students are mentored by renowned faculty in the mechanical engineering department.
