Microbiology Highlights

The microbiology department offers courses and small classes taught by Ph.D-holding faculty members. These classes combine classroom learning with hands-on learning experiences. Students have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, present research at scientific meetings, and co-author scientific papers.

Beyond the Classroom

In the microbiology department, students are invited to join the WSU American Society for Microbiology Student Chapter. This student-run club hosts a variety of social, educational, and career-oriented activities.
