Program Overview

The Certificate in Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) at Western Michigan University enhances the knowledge and skills of professionals in student affairs and related administrative positions. The program provides a theoretical and academic foundation in higher education and student affairs, equipping participants with the knowledge and competencies necessary to excel in their roles. The 15-credit hour program covers topics such as student development, assessment, intervention, equity and diversity, and higher education law. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in higher education and student affairs.
