Program Overview

This postgraduate certificate prepares individuals to become Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs), responsible for assessing mental health disorders and determining the need for psychiatric hospitalization. The program includes compulsory modules on ethical decision-making, mental health law, and professional partnership, and assessments are conducted through written assignments and a practice portfolio. Graduates are eligible for consideration by the Welsh Government and Social Care Wales for AMHP certification.
