Course Description

As we are a Liquor Control Victoria approved provider, our Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Course is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge mandated by the state and territory liquor licensing laws for individuals involved in the sale or service of alcohol.


Key Aspects of the Course

Serving or Selling Alcohol Responsibly

Participants will learn about the laws and regulations governing the sale and service of alcohol, including age restrictions, licensing requirements, and responsible service practices.


Assisting Customers to Drink within Appropriate Limits

The course will cover strategies and techniques for assisting customers to consume alcohol in a responsible manner.


Assessing Alcohol-Affected Customers

Participants will learn how to identify signs of intoxication, and understand the potential risks associated with serving alcohol to heavily intoxicated individuals.


Identifying Customers to Whom Sale or Service Must Be Refused

This section of the course will focus on recognizing situations where it is necessary to refuse the sale or service of alcohol. They will also understand the legal implications and duty of care obligations in such instances.


Refusing to Provide Alcohol

The course will provide participants with strategies and techniques for effectively and respectfully refusing the provision of alcohol to customers in accordance with legal and responsible service guidelines.


Course Delivery

  • Method: This course is a combination of lecture, group discussion, and practice.

Assessment

  • Participants will be required to complete the following during the class:
    • Fill out an enrolment form
    • Attend the RSA lecture
    • Complete role-play activities
    • Written assessment successfully completed and submitted prior to leaving class

Certification

After the successful completion of the assessment submission process, participants will be eligible for the certificates issued by the VCGLR and a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment for RSA. The certificate issuance process might take up to one week after the assessment submission.
