Associate of Arts Degree and Certificate of Completion

Program Overview

The Modern Languages Department offers an Associate of Arts degree in Spanish, along with a certificate of completion in Spanish. The program provides a complete range of lower division Spanish courses, including intermediate and advanced levels. Students can also take advantage of summer classes and study abroad opportunities. The program prepares students for transfer to a university or for careers in fields that require Spanish language proficiency.

• The Modern Languages Department offers an Associate of Arts degree in Spanish, along with a certificate of completion in Spanish.
• The mission of the department is to provide courses leading to the following: an Associate of Arts degree in Spanish and a certificate of completion Spanish; transfer to a university; the general requirements for the A.A. and A.S. degrees or transfer; and lifelong learning.

Outline:

• The program offers a complete range of lower division courses in Spanish.
• Intermediate level courses include Spanish 2a, 2B, 10A, 10B, 15, 38, 35A, 35B, 39, 40.
• Spanish, 22A and B (Elementary and Intermediate Spanish) are offered for students whose native language is Spanish.
