Program Overview

The Diploma in Visual Arts at Toi Ataata provides a comprehensive foundation in visual arts, covering 2D and 3D artmaking, art history, and mātauranga Māori. Students develop their artistic skills, academic knowledge, and study habits, preparing them for further study in the Bachelor of Visual Arts or careers in various art-related fields. The program includes required courses in collaborative practices, core studio, visual arts contexts, and image and mark making, along with elective courses in areas such as filmmaking, social justice, and digital fabrication.
