Program Overview
The Associate in Individualized Studies (A.I.S.) degree program at Ohio University allows students to design their own two-year program of study in a field not offered through other University College associate degree programs. The program provides students with the opportunity to pursue a customized program of study that meets their specific educational and career goals. Degree Overview:
The Associate in Individualized Studies (A.I.S.) degree program at Ohio University allows students to design their own two-year program of study in a field not offered through other University College associate degree programs. The program is available to students on all Ohio University campuses.
Objectives:

Program Description:
The A.I.S. program requires students to complete the following:
- Tier I first-year English composition course
- Quantitative skills course
- 15 hours of general education coursework, including:
- Foundations: Written Communications course (FWC)
- Foundations: Quantitative Reasoning (FQR)
- Pillars: Social or Behavioral Sciences (PSBS) or Arches: Connected World (ACNW)
- Pillars: Natural Sciences (PNS) or Arches: Natural World (ANW)
- Pillars: Humanities: Texts & Contexts (PHTC) or Pillars: Humanities: Arts (PHA)
- An approved area of concentration, consisting of at least 20 hours, which has coherence and educational purpose equivalent to an established degree program. At least 50 percent of coursework for the A.I.S. area of concentration must be completed at Ohio University.

Individual Modules:
The A.I.S. Instead, students design their own program of study based on their individual interests and goals.

Students in the A.I.S. program are assessed through a variety of methods, including:

- Projects Students must earn a grade of C or better in all of their coursework to earn the A.I.S. degree.
