Program Overview
The Master's of Arts in Public History at S. John University is a two-year, 33-credit program that prepares individuals to document, preserve, and interpret the past. It provides a multidimensional educational foundation through courses in History, Public archival studies, and Museum Management. The program is complemented by a six-credit internship and three-credit research initiative that facilitate professional skill-building and in-depth project execution within Public Historical disciplines and institutions. Graduates are equipped with knowledge and abilities to pursue a wide array of roles across a diverse set of professional settings, such as Museum Curation, Archives, Government Agencies, Conservation and Geneology, Corporations within Film, television, and Media, Historian roles, and Non profit organization endeavors.
