Outline:
Humanities Track
- Choose an area of concentration: history, literature, or philosophy
- Complete 5 courses in the area of concentration
- Take 2 courses each from two cognate disciplines
Social Science Track
- Choose an area of concentration: economics, history, government and politics, psychology, or sociology and anthropology
- Take 5 courses in the area of concentration
- Select 2 courses from any two cognate disciplines
Cultural Studies Track
- Choose 5 courses from a list of courses dealing with anthropological and cultural themes
- Select 4 courses related to cultural areas, including Latin America, Far Eastern cultures, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
Interdisciplinary Research Track
- Devise an individualized program of research in consultation with faculty and the program director
- Select courses from the area of concentration and at least two other relevant areas
All Tracks
- Complete an introductory and integrating seminar
