Program Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Technology program at Elgin Community College prepares students for careers in medical and scientific fields. Through a combination of online education and on-campus labs, students gain hands-on experience in clinical lab settings, developing expertise in various laboratory departments. Upon completion of the associate degree, students are eligible to sit for the national certification exam offered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), qualifying them for positions as Medical Laboratory Technicians, Phlebotomists, and Clinical Laboratory Scientists.
