Program Overview


Elgin Community College's Respiratory Care program prepares students to become Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs). The 72-credit-hour Associate of Applied Science degree includes coursework in respiratory care procedures, cardiopulmonary anatomy, and clinical practice. Graduates are eligible for the RRT exam and qualified to work in hospitals, rehab centers, and other healthcare settings treating patients with lung conditions.
