  • This cyber-security degree opens many career possibilities. You will study information technology, preparing you for a career in software development or the networking industry. Then you will focus on specialized units in cyber security – gaining the expertise needed to apply for specialized roles. Learn essential skills in cyber-threat detection and risk management, including:
  • cyber security technologies (such as digital signature, public key infrastructure, virtual private networks, firewalls, intrusion detection and data encryption)
  • ethical hacking and digital forensic data collection

Academic Requirements:

  • TAFE: Completion of a cognate (similar discipline) Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) will be granted advanced standing of a maximum 96 credit points (Diploma) or 144 credit points (Advanced Diploma).
  • Year 12: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in any other English; and a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.
  • International: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including at least one of the following subjects: Mathematics
  • OR Completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent); PLUS: IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score of six (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking).
  • Mature: Applicants with relevant work, education, and/or community experience will be considered for admission to the course.
